Brief Profile of Prof. B. Vijaya.

Dr. B. Vijaya is a Professor and Head Department of English, University College of Engineering and Director Centre for English Language Training Centre (CELT) Osmania University, Hyderabad, Telangana State, India. She was also the Head, Department of English, Osmania University, Director, ELTC, and was also the Director of the Center for Australian Studies, Osmania University. She has published two books, 21 papers, and presented 10 papers at National and International Conferences. She has completed 2 RUSA projects entitled Development of Banjara Script (Principal Investigator) and Compilation of Multilingual Banjara Dictionary (CoInvestigator) under Centre for Training and Research in Arts (CenTRA), a college level mini centre of RUSA at UCASS (University College of Arts and Social Sciences, Osmania University) in 2019 and 2020. She has also organized three International Conferences, One as Head, on “Plural Pasts, Shared Futures: Global Literary Interconnections” and two in Collaboration with OUCIP (Osmania University Centre for International Programmes). She has delivered a keynote at Telangana University in April, 2026 on “Critical Thinking Pedagogies for Enhancing Advanced Communication Skills” and a plenary talk at an international conference at Ballari in 2018 and was also a resource person at HRDCs (Human Resource Development Centres) and other universities and colleges. She was a panelist and a chair in the Banjara Language Convention organized by Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi 7 th September, 2022. She was a Chief Guest for One Day National Seminar on New Approaches in English Literature, Humanities and Social Sciences on 4/6/2022 at Sharanabasaveshwar College of Science, Kalaburagi. She was on the editorial board of OJES (Osmania Journal of English Studies) for 2017 issue. She is the Chief Editor for OJES 2023 and OJES 2024 issues. She was the Editor of Undergraduate final year General English Text Book English Express, published by Orient Blackswan and the first year General English Textbook titled English Edge, published by Orient Blackswan of Osmania University. She has been a selection committee and a Governing Body member for many colleges affiliated to Osmania University. She was the Chairperson, Board of Studies, Department of English, Osmania University in 2023. She is a BoS member at different state universities in Telangana. She is on a few academic and administrative committees of Osmania University. She has written lessons for UG text books for Osmania University, Mahatma Gandhi University and also for Distance Education MA English PG Programmes. She has submitted a Monograph under SAP DRS I and chaired many sessions at national and international conferences. Besides her academic career, as an academic administrator, she has also fulfilled the responsibility as the Vice-Principal of Arts College, Osmania University and also an In-charge Principal, besides her regular teaching, and was part of many administrative and academic reforms at the college. She has also served Osmania University as the Director of UGC-HRDC (Academic Staff College) besides her regular teaching from 12/11/2021 to 15/11/2022. At present she is the Director of the Office of the International Affairs, Osmania University. The Office of International Affairs assists in fostering relations between Indian Universities and Foreign Universities and helps in exchange programmes involving staff, scholars and students. Since its inception in 1999, Office of the International affairs has facilitated the admissions of more than 20,000 foreign students in various UG, PG, Ph.D and Diploma programmes in various campus, constituent and affiliated colleges of Osmania University. At present the OIA coordinates with 51 countries.
